A Process to Draft Decentralization Law in Lebanon | | On the 26th of May 2022, the Bar Associations of Beirut and Tripoli, in collaboration with the Arab Center for the Development of the Rule of Law and Integrity and the Decentralization and Development Organization, are launching a legal and scientific process to lay the foundations for the administrative decentralization law in Lebanon in order to promote administrative reform, improve public services, combat corruption, promote economic and environmental development, and thus ensure security stability.
The four parties have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on developing research and studies, applied techniques, and the general principles and foundations of the draft law on administrative decentralization in Lebanon, which achieves balanced development and establishes a modern administration for the Lebanese state. | | |
