Then MENA Commercial law strengthening project is a two year regional program ( 2008-2010) that is being implemented in Lebanon, Tunisia, Yemen and UAE, by the Arab Center for the Rule of Law and Integrity (ACRLI) in cooperation with the middle east partnership initiative (MEPI).
The project aimed at raising awareness on key commercial legal issues and its effects on economic growth, as well as building capacity to increase efficient and effective utilization of commercial dispute resolution mechanisms.
The project also includes supporting private-sector participations in policy-making and strengthening public-private networking and partnerships to support commercial law reform.
The project primarily targets members of the legal community (lawyers, judges, and academicians), business leaders and professional associations & syndicates in view of actively involving them with policymakers and concerned government practitioners in a result-oriented policy dialogue.
ACRLI is posting on its website "The compendium", a web-based compendium in Arabic and English; it includes commercial laws, regulations, court judgments, doctrines and other legal resources. The compendium also includes information and resources on business advocacy and international best practices, among other useful tools for commercial law practitioners in the region.

Training Seminars: Eight national training seminars on commercial dispute resolution mechanisms (2 per country) were held in each pilot country during the months of February and March 2010, one of these training sessions in each of the selected countries focused on complex commercial litigation and another one on alternative dispute resolution mechanism. It targeted lawyers and Businesspersons with an average of forty trainees in each training seminar.

Second Regional Conference: Within the MENA-CLS project implemented by the Arab Center for the Rule of Law and Integrity (ACRLI) in cooperation with the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), ACRLI organized the Second Regional Conference on “Prospects and challenges facing the Modernization of the Legal Environment to enable Business and Investment in the MENA Region”

Theme Specific National Workshops: Within the MENA CLS project, ACRLI organized Thematic Workshops addressing Intellectual property rights, Competition laws, Loan security laws and Real estate laws. It will gather participants and experts from the Middle East region as well as international prominent experts

Awareness workshops: Within the awareness campaign, ACRLI will be organizing one awareness workshop in each pilot country (Lebanon, Tunisia, Yemen, UAE). In The context of the "Commercial Law Strengthening -CLS" project (2008-2010), the Arab Center for The Development of The Rule of Law and Integrity – ACRLI has received congratulatory letters from the Lebanese Minister of Justice and the Yemeni Minister of Justice in which they have treasured ACRLI’s efforts for the completion of National Reports on the status of trade laws in Lebanon, and Yemen.
