The Arab Center for the Development of the Rule of Law and Integrity (ACRLI) is an Arab regional, non-governmental and non-profit organization, founded in 2003 by a group of judges, specialists in rule of law, lawyers and academics from various Arab countries.

ACRLI Rule of Law Annual Award 2018 – Honoring the “Person of the year” serving the Rule of Law and good governance

ACRLI is launching a new initiative in the Arab countries aiming to provide a “Rule of Law Annual Award”, on the occasion of honoring one or more of Arab Personalities as the "Person of the Year", which reflects his performance, demeanor and commitment to the principles of the rule of law and good governance, both in public and private sectors.   Project on "Encouraging Marginalized Voices in the Lebanese Political Process" (October 2017 – September 2019)

ACRLI is implementing Encouraging Marginalized Voices in the Lebanese Political Process, which is supported by a grant from the United States Department of State. The project aims to enhance the capacity of gender-focused CSOs to act on behalf of and represent women’s interests to local and national government. Read more...

A Series of training workshops within the project of "Encouraging Marginalized Voices in the Lebanese Political Process" (October 10, 2018)

ACRLI and PLAN International launched a series of CSOs training on “Advocacy, Participation, Community Scorecards and Participatory Budget”. The opening session was held on Wednesday 10 October 2018 at 09:00 a.m. in the presence of the Lebanese Minister of Women's Affairs Mr. Jean Oghasbian, at Gefinor Rotana Beirut Hotel- Gefinor Hamra.  Read more...


Billboards which include the advocacy message “women quota… is a national need”

Within the context of the project on 'Encouraging Marginalized Voices in the Lebanese Political Process”, ACRLI has launched an awareness and advocacy campaign in the aim to promote and advocate for the effective participation of Women in Public Life and specifically the effective Women Political Participation in Lebanon.
Several billboards which include the advocacy message “women quota… is a national need” will be disseminated in Beirut district and outside Beirut covering the various regions in Lebanon.

ACRLI has published a new legal assessment report “Women’s Participation in Public Life” which tackles the question of women’s participation in public life from a legal perspective and examines the constraints imposed on them and the diminutive effects those constraints have on women’s participation.

National Conference on "Women’s Participation in Public Life" (26 July 2018)

The Arab center for the Development of the Rule of Law and integrity convened a conference to launch a study on “Women’s Participation in Public Life” on July 26, 2018 at the Hilton Hotel in Beirut.
The Study emphasizes the legal reforms required to strengthen women's role in public life. The conference unfolded in the context of the project on "Encouraging Marginalized Voices in the Lebanese Political Process", which is being implemented by ACRLI with funding provided by the US Department of State. Final conference of the project on "Improving Capacities to Fight Human Trafficking in Lebanon" (23 march 2018)

Within the final conference of the project on “Improving the Judiciary’s Capacity to Fight Human Trafficking in Lebanon”, ACRLI has released a training manual to combat trafficking in Lebanon.
The conference was held with the cooperation of the Higher Judicial Council represented by its president Judge Jean Fahed, and with the participation of concerned key stakeholders from both private and public sectors.

Workshop on "Lebanese Legal System on Women's Political Participation" (16 February 2018)

Within its efforts to promote women’s participation and leadership, ACRLI has organized the second workshop to discuss the "Lebanese Legal System on Women's Political Participation" with the relevant key stakeholders i.e. representative of the Ministry of Justice, the Woman's Committee at the Lebanese Bar Association; Judges and Lawyers, as well members of Women-focused CSOs.

Within its efforts to promote women’s participation and leadership, ACRLI has organized the first workshop to discuss the "Lebanese Legal System on Women's Political Participation", in presence of the Minister for Women's Affairs, Mr. Jean Oghassabian, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Social Affairs, National Commission for Lebanese Women and other relevant stakeholders.

Launching the Report of "Role of the Constitutional Council Role in Building the State of Right"

Within the Framework of "Promoting the Constitutional Council Role in Building the State of Right" project, ACRLI has launched the report on "Role of the Constitutional Council Role in Building the State of Right". The report includes conclusions and recommendations on the importance of the role of the Constitutional Council in Lebanon, especially with regard to its authority to interpret the constitution and to expand the right to review the constitutionality of laws.
